Barton Springs University
Barton Springs University is a year-round series of educational events and classroom presentations, highlighted by a full day of outdoor learning and fun at Barton Springs Pool on September 25th. The Barton Springs University day is designed primarily for high school students but includes college students and the general public. It features lectures, hands on activities, an interactive community fair and training by leading academics, professionals, and policy makers on central Texas water science, public policy, history and sustainable living.

Stream Team Festival
DESCRIPTION This year Texas Stream Team (TST) trained our 10,000th citizen scientist - an achievement all TST staff, citizen scientists, and partners accomplished together. The Invaders of Texas organization has scheduled citizen scientist training classes around the fall symposium dates to make it convenient for registrants to attend. Advanced training sessions are planned before and after the symposium. The workshops will be taught by Hans Landel, Ph.D., Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center Invasive Species Program Director on Wednesday, October 17, 1:00 – 4:00 pm and again on Sunday, October 21, 3:00 – 6:00 pm.
