Septic System Workshop (Cypress Creek Project)

May 3, 2023 @ 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm

Ryan Gerlich, OSSF Specialist with Texas Agrilife Extension, will lead an Introduction to Septic Systems Workshop that will highlight common system types, maintenance, and troubleshooting.  Presentations will cover the treatment processes, health and safety considerations, how to inspect, and maintain the system. This course also provides answers to the most frequently asked septic system questions, including when to pump out a tank and what can or cannot go down the drain.

Eric Vangaasbeek, Hays County Environmental Specialist and Aaron McCoy, Hays County Extension Agent will discuss county-specific guidelines and programs.  Robin Gary and David Baker with the Watershed Association, Jenna Walker and Desiree Jackson with the Meadow Center for Water and the Environment will be available to answer questions regarding Cypress Creek and Blanco River monitoring efforts.

The full, in-person workshop is limited to 25 participants due to the room capacity. Please let Robin Gary (robingary@wimberleywatershed.org) know if your RSVP status has changed to free up space for others. There will be a limited, virtual option for folks that cannot make the trip to the Hays County Precinct 3 Office, Agrilife Extension Office.  We’re using Eventbrite to track sign-ups and submit pre-workshop questions.  Click the RSVP link below to reserve your spot either in person or virtually for the Septic System Workshop!
