Building the Future of Environmental Leadership: The Watershed Association [in partnership with] the One Village Project Announce the Emerging Visionary Incubator
[Wimberley, TX] – The Watershed Association is honored to partner with the One Village Project to bring their Emerging Visionary Incubator to Central Texas. From March 13th–18th, 2025, this life-changing program supports passionate young visionaries, ages 20–30, to step fully into their purpose and power as young leaders in their communities. Through immersive mentorship with dedicated leaders at the forefront of environmental advocacy, humanitarian service, and embodied stewardship, participants will gain the tools, inspiration, and community support needed to transform their ideas into meaningful action.
Nestled in the heart of the Texas Hill Country, the Emerging Visionary Incubator is a transformative five-day residential retreat that calls on young people who have an innate sense that they have a meaningful role to play in shaping our future. This immersive program nurtures and fortifies the next generation of environmental and social changemakers and brings together passionate young visionaries who feel deeply called to address the urgent challenges of our time through innovative thinking, creative problem-solving, and embodied heart-centered leadership.
Through this 5-day gathering, participants join a diverse group of peers and mentors, engaging in workshops, dialogue, and reflective practices that transform initial inspiration into actionable impact. This program, held by the One Village project for the last 5 years, provides the foundational tools, community connections, and support systems needed for young visionaries to develop their unique contributions to environmental and social transformation. Bringing this program to the Texas Hill Country connects emerging leaders with an established network of environmental stewards who are actively addressing regional challenges and creating positive change in their communities.
“The incubator helped me realize that the path I’m taking is more powerful than anything I could have ever imagined. It allowed me to see how far I’ve come and how far I’m going. I will always be grateful for the Emerging Visionaries program. I continually reflect on where I am now and how far I’ve come, because this is one of the programs that I believe many young people truly need.” said Naomi Mwangi, a two-time graduate of the Emerging Visionary Incubator.
This program fosters a new paradigm of leadership that integrates:
- Ecological Wisdom: Deep understanding of natural systems and their interconnections
- Social Innovation: Creative approaches to community building and systemic change
- Personal Development: Building internal capacity for resilience and sustained impact
- Practical Skills: Tools and methodologies for project implementation and community engagement
- Network Building: Creating lasting connections with fellow changemakers and mentors
Financial accessibility is a core value of the Watershed Association and we will not turn away any applicant due to financial constraints. The organization truly views the next generation as the most critical element to a thriving future and is committed to offering financial assistance to ensure all qualified participants can attend, regardless of economic circumstances.
